On September 28th Chili Miķeļdiena (Michaelmas)

The Latvian Miķelis in a colorful southern suit – that's what the Autumn Equinox celebration at Kalnciems Quarter is all about. On September 28, spice lovers are especially invited to the market. With freshly grown chili peppers, sauces, pickles, and even jams, Asais Pipars, Z/S Kaņepjvērpji, Svilis Pepper Farm, and our very own Burka & Ledus will be joining the market. The equinox feast with a Mexican twist will be prepared by Javier Garcia and Meaet Daddy, who will be cooking chili con carne, tacos, and burritos for lunch. At the same time, your favorite local producers will be serving up warm pies, bread, traditional Latvian pastries (sklandrausis), smoked meats, a vibrant variety of autumn vegetables, this year's honey, apple juice, and other treats perfect for sharing with friends and family.
