On February 7 at the Kalnciema Quarter gallery will be opened Velga Timrota's solo exhibition “Thoughts and Crystals”. The exhibition will take place until February 28th.
Velga Timrota became known at the beginning of the 2000s, when after graduating from the Latvian Academy of Art she entered the art scene of her generation.
Velga's solo exhibition "Thoughts and Crystals" is a look back on the past years, which at the same time marks the continuation and the beginning of a new path. Velga's paintings are like an inner space, a record of balancing the inner world, expressed in abstract or semi-abstract images. These works are characterized by a thoughtful, minimalist composition and nuanced color gamut. The process of creating them is meditative - every work is done over a long period of time, summing up thin layers of color until the "picture starts to work". The experience of observing these works is also meditative: the artist wants that her works make people watch, contemplate and balance for a long time. Her works should unleash the world of the viewer's personal thoughts.
Exhibition is open every day, except Sunday, from 10 AM to 7 PM.
