From March 5th Līvas Almanes Exhibition "Peace and the Cat"
2025.02.13
Where to Find Peace in a World That Is Constantly Changing and Rushing?
Painter Līva Almane’s exhibition "Peace and the Cat" serves as a visual refuge – a place where a moment of rest transforms into an artistic experience, creating a warm and slightly playful atmosphere.
The exhibition will feature works created over the past year, in which the artist blends surreal realism with childhood figures from her old sketchbooks. This fusion forms a unique narrative of relationships – a dialogue between past and present, between the inner world and external reality.
In her art, Almane consciously avoids heavy, dramatic themes. “In a world where we receive so much negative information every day, I want my works to bring the viewer a sense of peace, coziness, and warmth. And I am happy if I succeed in that,” says the artist.
"Peace and the Cat" is not just a visual experience but also an invitation to slow down, recall lightness, and feel tranquility – just like a cat, lazily observing the world while remaining true to its essence.
Līva Almane graduated from the Painting Department of the Art Academy of Latvia in 2022 and works in both realism and abstraction. In addition to her personal creative work, she is actively involved in the art scene, organizing pop-up exhibitions and the student art market "Art Hunt", which has become an important platform for emerging artists.
