At the dancers’ request, on Thursday, June 5, you are invited to the SUMMER VEČERINKA!

When warm summer evenings smell of jasmine and lovers, your feet will naturally seek the dance floor.

That’s why we invite you to the cozy courtyard of Kalnciems Quarter – to fill it with music, movement, and joy!

The folklore group GRODI will play and invite everyone to dance – experienced and beginners, young and old.

We'll dance well-known and lesser-known traditional dances from Latgale, enjoy folk games and songs.

Your host and dance master for the evening will be Jevgēnijs Mickēvičs, guiding each step.

A “večerinka” in Latgale is a unique and little-studied part of the region’s intangible cultural heritage.

It reflects centuries-old traditions – dances, games, music, and the social lives and relationships of young (and not-so-young) people in Latgalian villages.
