From March 28th till April 26th Kaspars Perskis exhibition "The Way Home"
2025.03.19
What is home to you? Is it a place in matter or a feeling that you carry within you? Continuing the search for peace in an always rushing world, the exhibition "The Way Home" by artist Kaspars Perskis is a logical continuation of the call initiated by painter Līva Almane to stop for a moment more often, to look inside and, ultimately, to return to oneself. As a visual story of an emotional and physical return, the exhibition asks the question "Where are we going?" and reminds us that "The Way Home" is not just about getting to our destination, but also about what we experience and feel on the way.
Through mysterious landscapes in dark shades, a path is revealed that leads through the silence of the city, the lights of the night and personal reflections. A lone cyclist, seemingly gliding through an unknown space, marking a movement and a path towards a goal. His path leads across a bridge - a symbolic passage between the past and the future, between everyday life and home, between the inner and the outer world. The portrait of a girl surrounded by dreamy, abstract images and children's drawings evokes the thoughts, memories and dreams that accompany a person on his journey.
Kaspars Perskis (1975) graduated from the Painting Department of the Art Academy of Latvia, received his Bachelor's degree in 2005 and his Master's degree in 2007, participating in the figurative workshop led by Kristaps Zariņš.
