We are establishing a new tradition – Marta’s Market – a day to blossom together, honor women, and celebrate spring! 

From Latvia’s first female sculptor Marta Skulme to the remarkable modernist architect Marta Staņa, whose works still grace the skyline of Riga – this event is dedicated to cherishing and supporting the women of Latvia, both past and present, who have not only made a significant contribution to Latvian culture but also stand beside us every day.

Come on a date with your mother, sister, daughter, or friend! The market will offer a variety of ways to treat yourself and support each other on this special day:

Our wonderful neighbors Tresor Beauty and MySkin will create a special beauty zone where you can explore natural cosmetics and well-being activities.

On this day, you’ll have the opportunity to donate to Marta Center, an organization that provides assistance to women affected by violence, working towards a society where every woman feels safe and respected.

From 11:00 to 13:00, illustrator Signe Ērmane will host a creative workshop at the café (Wine Shop) for our youngest market visitors (children aged 5+), where they can craft themed greeting cards for their mothers and grandmothers. Pre-registration required: https://forms.gle/WPXZCNTcn5nkgvAm7

The Wine Shop will serve a carefully selected range of Italian sparkling wines for March 8th – from white to rosé and red.

Renāte from Saulesziedi garden will bring the most colorful tulip bouquets.

The finest artisans will offer handmade jewelry, natural cosmetics, sauna whisks, felt slippers, and elegant mohair knitwear. Meanwhile, farmers and home producers will provide everything needed for a picnic in the orchard – cakes, cheeses, oven-baked bread, and berries.
